Have you tried to desperately wanting to quit doing/consuming something, but it just seems that life without it is boring or even unpleasant? Let's talk about addictive behavior as a trauma response and about how we can start to move away from instant gratification, binge-eating and dependency on sugar and overeating for our pleasure - because it never really give us what we need, anyway PLUS if it feels intense to look at this habit, then we better do it. Addiction to sugar and food is an effect of eating, when not actually hungry, but consuming as a way to deal with stress. Once addicted I don't think it works anymore to look at the current emotions as a cause, because so much is bound up in habit and physical dependency. But of course many deep reflections are in place in this topic, for example: • Do you treat yourself with lots of sugar and lots of food? • What childhood memories do you have, that could have made you now tie together being good to yourself and unhealthy eating? • How do you manage fatigue? Could there be another soothing technique for you even when vulnerable? In this talk I reflect on the causes of addiction, the symbols for addiction, pisces!!, the social influences when its not any addiction but FOOD and sugar, cravings of specific types of food, which can be called emotional hunger, as it hijacks you and you can think of anything else, expect you just want to fulfill this need as soon as possible. I also try to show you some respect, because I'm sure you KNOW, that the overeating and binging sugar is not good for you, and that you already have many experiences with the negative effects on body and mind - And I hope that we, just by being nonjudgemental about it, can help pull it out of the blindspot and into the present moment, so we don't delude ourselves, but cultivate some tolerance for the emotional hunger, which I also just call anything, that is not actual hunger for healthy food.
