Beastblood - The Lost Heir Part 9

I turned my hand over, creating a curved wall of ice that stopped the geist from being able to run. The sun had set, but with my shifted eyes, I could make out the glimmer of magic.

The geist had created faint barbed wire out of magic all over the woman’s body, cutting into her as it controlled her.

I rubbed at my forehead as the paranormal looked left and right, trying to figure out a way to escape.

“You need to leave her body.” I told the geist.

“No!” It wailed and made the windows in the alley rattle. “I will not. She’s mine.”

The barbed wire tightened further, and the woman bled all over.

A terrifying image was thrown into my head, but clearing that attack was nothing compared to resisting demon and fae glamor. I pushed the nightmare out with a thought.

“Oh. Are we going to do that? Let me try.” My draconic aura blasted out of me.

I’d gained more control since I’d accidentally sent my aura out into a crowd, making them all panic. The biggest problem I had now was that the intensity of my aura could easily just kill the human host the geist was using if I wanted to attack it.

But make it afraid? I could do that relatively safely.

“No!” the geist screamed, becoming distracted enough that I could summon a glowing gold ball of summer fae magic.

I targeted the barbed wire and geist with the light. It tried to dodge out of the way, abandoning its host, but I was getting better at using my abilities. I opened a portal right in front of the geist, delivering it into the ball of summer fae magic.

The undead didn’t even make it all the way out of the portal before it turned into a fine glowing powder that fell into the alley.
