The Word and Spirit series will make space for the pneumatological emphasis typical of Pentecostal/charismatic approaches to theology without eclipsing the discernment that comes with the Word of God (that is, the Word both christological and scriptural). This series will not be narrowly Pentecostal but will include other approaches deemed charismatic as well. Furthermore, the series will also have an ecumenical horizon. Contributors will be encouraged to write in a way that would make these books relevant to other denominational traditions. These books are investigations in that they are scholarly treatments of topics that will seek to remain accessible to pastors as well as seminary and upper division college readers. Theology in the series name signals that these are constructive works engaging biblical, systematic, and historical theological discourse, with an eye towards offering contributions of contemporary relevance to the church.
The series will contract academic monographs that offer a solid Pentecostal and ecumenical discussion of key loci, but also of key trajectories in Pentecostal thought and experience.
