The Journal of Biblical and Pneumatological Research (JBPR) is a new international peer-reviewed journal dedicated to narratively and rhetorically minded exegesis of biblical and related texts. Topics include theological and pneumatological interpretation, the role of spiritual experience within authorial, canonical, and contemporary contexts, and the activity of Ruach Yahweh, Ruach Elohim, and various identifications of the Holy Spirit. The journal hopes to stimulate new thematic and narrative-critical exploration and discovery in potentially under-explored areas of research.

SUBMISSIONS

The Journal of Biblical and Pneumatological Research (JBPR) seeks essays that advance scholarship in the topical areas of concern to the journal. Articles should advance previous discussion and be illustrative of new discoveries and insights that will contribute broadly to our understanding of biblical texts. JBPR welcomes, for example, studies in the areas of personification, characterization, fulfillment of prophecy, narrative-rhetorical backgrounds and applications, spiritual experience, contextual exegesis, intertextuality, point of view, and analysis of hermeneutical presuppositions. These categories are of course not exhaustive, but perhaps may serve to highlight some potential topics of possible interest that JBPR may address. JBPR will also offer critical reviews of books whose content is germane to these topical areas.
