Danielle talks with actress-writer-director-producer-artist Yolonda Ross about living as a multi-hyphenate and how Black women are often forced into that role regardless of their goals. Yolonda dives into her journey from Omaha, Nebraska to New York City and how she ended up pursuing an acting career when she set out to be in the world of fashion. They discuss her recent independent film Bull as well as her development of her own film Scenes From Our Marriage and talk about the intense challenges Black projects face from breaking stereotypes to receiving funding and recognition. They recognize that to address the inequity in getting Black films made, the entire Hollywood pipeline needs to transform, rather than having a new "Black Renaissance" every few years. Host: Danielle Moodie Executive Producers: Danielle Moodie & Jackie Garofano Producer: Andrew Marshello Distributor: DCP Entertainment
