Author and Activist Chessy Prout joined the new episode of the Vital Voices Podcast series: Power to Empower with host Alyse Nelson to talkabout her journey as a survivor of sexual assault and how critical the allies around her were as she and her family worked through the draining process of seeking justice. Chessy reflected on the importance of connecting with and encouraging other survivors to assert their most important, basic rights – and how those connections drove her to use her voice so that other survivors know that they are not alone.

In this episode, Chessy shares how - through her journey of activism and advocacy, she’s learned what meaningful allyship looks like to support survivors. She and Alyse spoke about the big impact it makes knowing that leaders believe in survivors, and the value of partnering with advocates from high level to ensure survivors’ voices are heard.
