England beat Sweden on penalties... somehow! | Euro 2025 #10

Welcome to a new edition of On The Continent, your one-stop shop for all things European football. Dotun, Andy and Nicky Bandini wrap up an eventful week in the Champions League and beyond!

Bayern Munich fell to their first home defeat in all competitions since November 2019 – and it took a monumental effort from PSG to overcome the Bavarian giants. We reflect on the reasons behind Bayern’s rare lapse and what this means for Mauricio Pochettino’s side after a gutless defeat to Lille last weekend.

There was also a landmark result for Zinedine Zidane in midweek, who showed that he really can mix it with the very best tactical minds in Europe. And after a turbulent past few weeks, Juventus landed an important win against Napoli.
