Regular host of our nostalgia podcasts Marc Corby is once again joined by Mick Whisson for another 'As it Was When It Was' special.

This time focusing on the unexpectedly positive 1987-88 campaign, the lads remember the main games, players and incidents from a season that gave United a highest league placing since 1976-77. 

Thanks in part to the continuous emergence of a crop of good young players, the season sadly ended with huge concerns over the future of a certain Paul Gascoigne.
