Although the winds have died down considerably in much of the county, tens of thousands of people living in San Diego County remain without power this morning. Several school districts in the East County will be closed again today because of power shutoffs. San Diego County supervisors have approved a new policy calling on the sheriff's office to no longer voluntarily transfer detainees into ICE custody.

The Escondido city council will ratify a proclamation and move to earmark $4,000,000 from city reserves to address impacts of bacterial contamination in the local waterway. The nationwide carrot e-coli outbreak has spread to San Diego, as at least one local person has gotten sick. This weekend, the Rancho Coastal Humane Society is reducing it's adoption fees.
