The Weekly Planet

The Alien franchise was flagging after the middling reception of the previous few entries including a crossover with the Predator franchise. In an effort to bring back both the prestige of Alien and Aliens plus the fan base Ridley Scott returned to the series with Prometheus. Set up as a prequel of sorts with echo's of future entries it assembled a steller cast, the help of Lost's Damon Lindelof and a huge budget. To this day it sits as an odd entry to failed to deliever on its promise but not without it's high points. Thanks for watching our Caravan Of Garbage review

It's our final entry in our 'That's a comic book movie?!?' series! And we're taking a look at an entry that's barely an entry, 2013's Oblivion. This is the first pairing of Tom Cruise and Joseph Kosinski who'd later reteam in the much more successful Top Gun: Maverick in 2022. Set in the apocalyptic future of 2077, there's a big triangle in the sky telling Tom Cruise what to do which you'd think would be fine but it might be bad actually. We're tackling Bulletproof Monk from 2003, the Chow Yun-fat and Sean William Scott lead action comedy that we discover is completely servicable and forgettable as a movie about a magic scroll that gives you some magic. The fight scenes are okay! The cast chemistry is okay! And the story is okay! What more could you want from a movie nobody has seen or ever talked about. Based on the comic of the same name published under Dark Horse and Comics Greatest World it sees Barbara "The Wire" Kopetski facing a distopian nightmare future in the far flung future of 2017. And for a movie that isn't great it sure has it all. Fights! Motor bikes! Explosions! An extended stripping scene whilst Pamela Anderson gets hosed down for a really long time! A movie about a man who's both time and cop determined to stop financial criminality across the centuries whilst not really bothering with the actual ramifications. 2 Fast 2 Furious was rushed into cinemas to capitalise on the success of The Fast & The Furious two years earlier. But at some cost. Paul Walker returns but gone is Vin Diesels Dom Toretto and in is Tyrese Gibson's Roman Something. This time it's an undercover operation or something plus James Remar is in it and a boat is crashed into a car or vice versa I think. Anyways, thanks for the support we really appreciate it.
