Stephen A. Smith is a New York Times Bestselling Author, Executive Producer, host of ESPN's First Take, and co-host of NBA Countdown. WNBA players opting out of the collective bargaining agreement. The WNBA players have opted out of their current collective bargaining agreement and face the prospect of a work stoppage if they don't reach a new deal before the end of next season. The move comes as the league recently entered into a historic 11-year media rights deal with Disney, Amazon Prime and NBC for $200 million dollars a year. The players also cited higher television ratings, attendance figures and franchise values for opting out.
