It’s is a historic day on Florida’s death row with a rare double execution. The state is executing two inmates in one day for the first time in more than 60 years. After a brief delay, Florida executed 68-year-old James Duckett at 1:19pm ET and just a few hours later is set to execute the oldest man in state history, 80-year-old Dominick Occhicone. The Supreme Court just denied both mens’ appeals for a stay of execution clearing the way for both lethal injections.

Rare Double Execution: Florida Executes First Of Two Inmates In One Day, Making History Tonight

The man who pleaded guilty last summer of the brutal campus killings of four Idaho college students, now claims he was coerced into pleading guilty for the crimes. Bryan Kohberger, who is currently serving four life sentences, filed a handwritten petition to the court on Monday asking for a trial, after he claims he was forced by his attorneys into making a false plea to avoid death row. It’s unclear if a court will consider Kohberger’s request, given in his plea deal, where he waived all rights to appeal “any and all issues” in the case.

Idaho Student Murderer Now Says He’s Innocent Of Quadruple Homicide, Wants Trial

Investigators are trying to piece together what happened in a Michigan home that led to 47-year-old Kris Karolkiewicz shooting and killing his six children, his wife and then himself after setting the family home on fire. We know Kris recently lost his job as a Vice President with the American Heart Association, but it’s still unclear if that played a role in the unthinkable tragedy. Investigators say they found his licensed firearm near his body, and the rest of the family members shot to death in their bedrooms. While police confirmed he did not leave behind a note, investigators have seized what they call “a lot of documentation” from the home.

It’s day one of testimony in the Lindsay Clancy triple murder trial, the 35-year-old mother who strangled her three young children, but blames postpartum psychosis for the killings. The first witness was Clancy’s ex-husband Patrick, also father to 5-year-old Clara, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan. Patrick Clancy described his wife’s declining and confusing mental state in the days leading up to his children’s deaths. He’s expected to testify for both the prosecution and defense, and has publicly defended his ex-wife, saying she is not a monster, she was just ill.

Police found Gilson dead, shot in the head next to her 48-year-old estranged husband who had a self inflicted gunshot wound. There were audible gasps in the courtroom as the medical examiner showed photos from the autopsy of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, detailing how the young teen was stabbed twice and then dismembered. We also heard testimony from a police detective who went over the sexually graphic and explicit photos and videos between D4vd and Celeste, including text messages describing at least one pregnancy and abortion.
