Farage wins by-election but Reform’s troubles are far from over

In Thursday’s episode of The Daily T, Camilla Tominey and Tim Stanley discuss how Andy Burnham’s controversial plan to distribute asylum seekers to middle-class constituencies is causing problems for Labour MPs, including York Central’s Rachael Maskell. She is opposed to housing asylum seekers at a local RAF base, despite her long-standing pro-refugee rhetoric.

Labour faces Nimby nightmare after Burnham’s migrant plan

In Wednesday’s episode of The Daily T, Camilla Tominey and Poppy Coburn react to Andy Burnham’s demand that middle-class towns and villages across the UK take in their “fair share” of illegal migrants.

They examine the severe strain mass arrivals place on small rural communities such as the Oxfordshire village of Piddington, where a population of just more than 350 residents could be asked to absorb more than 1,200 asylum seekers.

Reform at war: Is Zia Yusuf out of control?

In today’s episode of The Daily T, Camilla Tominey and Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg speak to Joshua Bonehill-Paine, the convicted anti-Semite and former far-Right activist, in his first interview since withdrawing his Tory council candidacy following a backlash over his selection.

Camilla challenges Bonehill-Paine on his rehabilitation and subsequent work in counter-extremism after being convicted in 2016 of the racially-aggravated harassment of Luciana Berger, the Labour peer. Sir Jacob offers him a direct opportunity to apologise to Baroness Berger, which he accepts, acknowledging that his past behaviour was “disgusting” and “truly awful”. He also defends his role advising the 

Conservatives on tackling anti-Semitism.

Camilla and Sir Jacob also discuss Reform UK’s pledge to deport all foreign nationals from British prisons to countries such as El Salvador to free up space.
