Jodie Ounsley physical fitness and dedication has given her a career we would all be proud of... from professional rugby to starring in the TV show Gladiators as Fury! She's also done it all while being profoundly deaf, hearing using a singular cochlear implant.
A life dedicated to sport while having to navigate reading the game differently, understanding noise, communication and calls built around sound. All the while, running has been a key factor to her achievements.
She also opens up about her relationship with her late father, the driving force behind her journey into fitness.
She's here to talk about something bigger than her own training, too. Specsavers and parkrun have teamed up on a new initiative, StartLine, designed to remove the practical and emotional barriers stopping people with visual and hearing impairments from taking part.
An episode about strength, loss, adaptation, and what it really takes to feel like you belong at the start line.
