Syria: How Assad fell, the view from Damascus and US response

New York prosecutors have filed a murder charge against Luigi Mangione, the suspect in the killing of UnitedHealth executive Brian Thompson, after a manhunt that ended in Pennsylvania. Families have been desperately searching the filthy cells of Syria's forbidding Sednaya prison for any sign of long-detained relatives. Around 180 people have been killed by gangs in Haiti over suspicions they were involved in witchcraft, according to an NGO.

A Reuters/Ipsos poll shows a majority of Americans are worried that Elon Musk's efforts to reduce the federal government could hurt services.
