Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum pressed Democratic Socialists of America co-chair Gustavo Gordillo on his gripe New York City landlords make a 12% return on their investment; Gordillo did not specify whether it was annually or not — but either way, he said it was too much during a Friday appearance on The Story. He went on to say 'they do not deserve double-digit returns', much to the bewilderment of MacCallum.

In part one of Red Eye Radio with Gary McNamara and Eric Harley, officials and health experts expressed growing concern on Thursday about dangerously poor air quality across much of the northeastern United States and southern Canada, as a cloud of dense smoke from scores of raging wildfires darkened skies and irritated throats from the Great Lakes to New England. As the wildfires continued to burn, sensors that monitor the air quality index for millions of people recorded figures sometimes nearly twice as high as what is considered hazardous.

In part one of Red Eye Radio with Gary McNamara and Eric Harley, Americans got a break on inflation last month, with better deals at the gas station and cooler price increases across much of the economy. Consumer prices were up 3.5% in June from a year earlier, beating expectations and improving from the 4.2% inflation rate in May. Inflation was also lower than the 3.8% that analysts polled by The Wall Street Journal expected.

Also the House passes "The Sunshine Protection Act". A Trump-backed bill that would make daylight saving time permanent / Med school deans come up empty in a tense hearing when asked point blank if men can have babies: 'Ridiculous' / and the Democratic Socialists of America launch their radical platform to abolish the US Senate in a bid to fundamentally transform America.
