04-23-26 Part Two -Trump And Spirit Airlines

In part one of Red Eye Radio with Gary McNamara and Eric Harley, The Southern Poverty Law Center has been indicted on fraud charges for its use of paid informants to monitor and track racist organizations. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said Tuesday the indictment was handed down by a federal grand jury in Alabama, where the organization is based. The SPLC faces 11 counts including wire fraud, bank fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering. Blanche, speaking alongside FBI Director Kash Patel at a news conference, said the organization paid at least eight people, including those affiliated with violent extremist groups like the Ku Klux Klan and Nazi organizations, at least $3 million between 2014 and 2023.

In part two of Red Eye Radio with Gary McNamara and Eric Harley, Senator Elizabeth Warren, the ranking Democrat on the banking committee that is overseeing his confirmation, said Kevin Warsh would be little more as Fed chairman than Trump's "sock puppet". Trump has suggested that, if confirmed, Warsh would conform to his agenda and lower interest rates, which the president argues is necessary to boost the US economy. The former Fed governor said the independence of America's central bank "is essential" and vowed that he would be committed to preserving its self-governance.

The fragile 2-week ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran will expire on Wednesday, and there has been no news on extending the truce. Meanwhile Iran says they will not negotiate while under threat.

Also mitigating the risk of excavating uranium, Iran's only leverage is their perspective on the US following their intentions, Democrat's disdain for a US victory over Iran, Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer leaves the Trump cabinet as Keith Sonderling takes over and Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson accused the Supreme Court majority on Monday of overstepping its role to "wordsmith" a lower court in Washington, D.C., in a pointed break from her colleagues in a Fourth Amendment case about whether a police officer had reasonable suspicion to stop a man.

We begin by reports that Ilhan Omar says she isn’t a multimillionaire by blaming an accounting error. President Trump has suggested the Minnesota congresswoman profited from a massive welfare fraud scandal still being investigated. Congresswoman Omar and her husband Tim Mynett have a net worth between $6 million to $30 million according to their 2025 disclosure. However disclosures from the end of 2023 showed the pair had ownership stakes that only add to the value of just above $51,000.

Also the latest on the war with Iran with audio from CBS' 60 Minutes on Iran's nuclear capabilities, hundreds of commercial tankers are stranded on both sides of the Strait of Hormuz after Iran shut the critical chokepoint on April 18, halting traffic and leaving crews trapped amid reports of gunfire and "traumatic experiences" on board. Also the "ups and downs" of negotiating with Iran, President Trump wants uranium enriched nuclear dust by sending in excavators and it's 4/20 meaning pot smokers will celebrate today along with Earth Day this Wednesday.

Chuck Schumer calling for FIFA to cover the full rail cost for New Yorkers attending the World Cup as NJ Transit train ticket prices are set for $150 to get to MetLife Stadium for matches. Schumer released a statement on Sunday calling on FIFA to pay the full fair which is astronomically higher than the regular cost to travel from Penn Station to the Meadowlands, while understanding that "FIFA is set to rake in approximately $11 billion in revenue off the tournament while New York fans are being hit with $150 NJ Transit round-trip tickets to get to the game." MetLife Stadium will host eight matches during the World Cup, including the final on July 19. The usual price is $12.90 for the Meadowlands train from Penn Station, but it will rise to $150 beginning June 13 and ending July 19.
