Steinem was a feminist activist her entire life, including serving as an honorary co-chair and delivering a powerful speech at the massive Women’s March against Donald Trump following his first inauguration in 2017. Steinem was recognized as one of the leading figures of the second-wave feminism movement of the late 1960s, whose gender equality activism resulted in widespread change.

In part two of Red Eye Radio with Gary McNamara and Eric Harley, Fox News said Thursday that it had parted ways with longtime anchor Maria Bartiromo, a vocal defender of President Trump who hosted several financial news shows. Bartiromo has been Fox Business Network’s global markets editor since joining it in 2014. She hosted “Mornings with Maria” and “Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street” on Fox Business, while also anchoring “Sunday Morning Futures,” a business-focused show on Fox News Channel. The reason for her firing is still unknown.

Also former NBA player Enes Kanter Freedom has filed a federal lawsuit against the Chicago Sky and the owners of Wintrust Arena / California’s controversial billionaire tax has picked up perhaps its least surprising endorsement yet: the Communist Party / and Republicans regret too much concern over AI data centers.

Also multiple scholars warn that social media could be helping turn alleged murderer Luigi Mangione into a “Robin Hood”-esque figure in light of angst against the healthcare system. Their warnings come after a new Emerson College poll found a significant minority of young adults appear sympathetic to Mangione. The 28-year-old is on trial after allegedly murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in December 2024.

Lindsay Clancy, 36, has pleaded not guilty to three counts of murder for the January 2023 strangulation deaths of her three children in Duxbury, Massachusetts.

Also enrollment in the biggest federally funded food aid program in the U.S. dropped by more than 13% in a 12-month span - a decline far steeper than the government estimated as work requirements and other provisions of President Donald Trump's "big beautiful bill" take hold.
