LISTEN | Morning Prayer - January 21, 2025 |Memorial of St. Agnes, Virgin and Martyr
Sometimes, when we get caught up in the rules, we forget the heart of the matter. It's easy to focus on the letter of the law, but we can miss the spirit of why it was created in the first place. A good law should always aim to help people, to make life better for everyone. Jesus talked about freedom – freedom from fear, from burdens that weigh us down, from getting stuck in rules that don't actually serve us. He reminded us that the law is meant to guide us toward love and compassion, not to trap us in a cage of rigid rules.
