Today we celebrate Mary’s visit to her cousin Elizabeth. Elizabeth recognizes the significance of the child Mary carries in her womb. It would have been customary for Elizabeth to go and honor Mary. Instead, Mary comes to Elizabeth, just as God — in the person of his Son — comes to visit us.
