Laura Grimshaw and Jon Holmes present highlights and winners from this year's British Podcast Awards.

The British Podcast Awards ceremony takes place on Saturday 23rd July at Kennington Park in London. There are 30 awards being presented including Best New, Best Comedy, Best Current Affairs, Best Fiction, the Climate Award, and the Rising Star Award. Plus one of the winners will be crowned Podcast of the Year 2022. For Podcast Radio Hour, we will chat to the winners, hosts and judges at the ceremony to bring the awards to you.

British Podcast Awards

After last weekend's British Podcast Awards, Chris Pearson and Laura Grimshaw run through the winners.

Matt Hill and Matt Deegan, the awards organisers and co-founders, discuss putting the awards together. We'll hear about the long process to whittle down over 1500 entries to the eventual winners, and they tell us what it meant to bring together some of Britain's top podcasters after last year's virtual event.

VENT Documentaries took home three awards- Smartest Podcast, Best Documentary and the prestigious Podcast of the Year. Senior Producer Jesse Lawson tell us how the producers gave young people a platform to explore ideas and topics of their choosing. Plus Lynette Norah, host of the award winning VENT Documentaries episode 'Problem Kids', tells us about her relationship with podcasting.
