The US has imposed new tariffs on 60 trading partners.

These tariffs, which replace an identical levy which expires on Friday, are based on claims key economic partners have failed to properly tackle forced labour.

Those affected - including Brazil, Norway, China, and Australia have criticised the move by the Trump administration. Will these import taxes last and what effect will they have?

Latest US blanket tariffs 'unjustified'

Firefighters in France say they are still not in control of an unprecedented wildfire that's spreading towards the southwest city of Bordeaux. The city's mayor says he's preparing for all eventualities. The massive blaze, in the Gironde region, is one of several wildfires burning across France.

Also in the programme: the Normandy beaches used for the D-Day landings are to be given UNESCO World Heritage status; and the Irish Gaelic football team breaks a so-called "curse" after winning the All-Ireland championship for the first time in 75 years.

Fear in Bordeaux with wildfire 15km from city outskirts

The suspect in the Berlin Pride ramming attack, which killed at least one person on Saturday night, has been shot and killed by German officials. Police say 21-year-old Abdul Ballout was killed after he reportedly ran towards officers with a knife in a western borough of the country’s capital. We get all the details from a Berlin-based journalist.

Also in the programme: The US ambassador to the UN says his country has halted strikes on Iran to give diplomacy more time; and a wildlife haven in South Sudan gets UNESCO World Heritage status, a first in the nation’s history.

Berlin Pride attack suspect killed during police operation

The German Chancellor, Friedrich Merz, says an attack on one of Europe's largest Pride events in Berlin late on Saturday was an attack on German society. Police are still searching for the driver of a vehicle that rammed into a crowd, killing a woman and injuring sixteen people. They say the twenty- one year old man suspect has links to Islamists. 

Also in the programme: a third of a million people in France and Spain have now been ordered to leave their homes to escape wildfires; and Britain's new prime minister, Andy Burnham, has said he would publicly oppose President Trump if it meant defending the country's national interest.

Police hunt suspect after car attack at Berlin Pride event

Military transport planes have been sent into the worst affected regions as ash clouds loom over Bordeaux. We hear from two families who have been caught in the fires on holiday, and get a response from the French foreign minister for International Partnerships, Éléonore Caroit.

India's education minister has resigned after weeks of protests. Surbhi Kesar, a Senior Lecturer in Economics at SOAS University of London and an expert on India's labour markets and economy, told us why there is so much youth dissatisfaction in India.

Mass evacuations as French wildfires continue

Over 270,000 people have been evacuated in France and Spain following a spate of wildfires, with areas surrounding Bordeaux and Madrid particularly affected. Spain has declared the incident a national emergency. We hear from a woman in the impacted French commune of Biscarrosse who has not yet left the region.

Firefighters battle to contain France and Spain wildfires

Member states of the International Criminal Court have overwhelmingly voted to remove its chief prosecutor, Karim Khan, over allegations of sexual misconduct. The British lawyer denies accusations of engaging in an improper sexual relationship with a junior staff member. 

Also, firefighters struggle to contain Madrid wildfires as more than 130,000 evacuated in France and Spain. 

And a month after the twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela, a leading member of the opposition tells us why he thinks the destruction was so bad and the response so slow.

ICC top prosecutor removed over sexual misconduct allegations

President Trump has threatened to inflict major military punishment against Yemen's Houthi rebels following their strikes on oil tankers in the Red Sea. Oil prices hit $100 a barrel for the first time since May as fears grow over global energy supplies. We speak to the UN's Yemen envoy Hans Grundberg who is concerned about the prospect of escalation in Yemen. 

Also in the programme; The BBC visits Iran school where a strike killed 120 children as questions remain whether the US military is responsible; and the European Union has fined the US tech titan Google one-billion-dollars for flouting anti- trust regulations.

BBC visits Iran school where strike killed 120 children

American lawmakers and Israeli officials have expressed unease over a landmark nuclear deal between the US and Saudi Arabia, but the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, says that the agreement won't lead to proliferation.

Also in the programme: the trial of Venezuela's ousted leader, Nicolas Maduro, on drugs trafficking charges is due to be held next June in New York; and the American jazz musician, Plas Johnson, famous for his Pink Panther saxophone theme, has died at the age of 94.
