The Week: Sandwiches, Planning and the EU

Migration, Migration, Migration

Today, we look at the naming of the alleged Chinese spy with links to Prince Andrew.

Sources have told the BBC that Prince Andrew will not be at Sandringham with the rest of the Royal Family for Christmas this year after the alleged spy was named as businessman Yang Tengbo. Mr Yang has responded in a statement saying it was “entirely untrue” that he was a spy.

Prince Andrew previously said in a statement that he had "ceased all contact" with the Chinese businessman, with all meetings having been "through official channels" and "nothing of a sensitive nature ever discussed".

Adam speaks to BBC Home and Legal Correspondent Dominic Casciani and Charles Parton, former UK diplomat to China and RUSI associate fellow.

And, the government has set out its plan for devolution. Joe Pike tells Adam about Angela Rayner’s plans for more mayors and abolishing district councils.

The Chinese "Spy" is Named

As the number of UK deaths from Coronavirus rises even further, Fergus visits a hospital taking part in a large scale clinical trial that hopes to find a treatment. Professor Martin Landray, one of the trial’s leads, tells Adam, Laura and Fergus how the 8,000 person trial aims to see if any existing drugs could offer a solution.
