The Week: Sandwiches, Planning and the EU

Migration, Migration, Migration

Today, we look at the naming of the alleged Chinese spy with links to Prince Andrew.

Sources have told the BBC that Prince Andrew will not be at Sandringham with the rest of the Royal Family for Christmas this year after the alleged spy was named as businessman Yang Tengbo. Mr Yang has responded in a statement saying it was “entirely untrue” that he was a spy.

Prince Andrew previously said in a statement that he had "ceased all contact" with the Chinese businessman, with all meetings having been "through official channels" and "nothing of a sensitive nature ever discussed".

Adam speaks to BBC Home and Legal Correspondent Dominic Casciani and Charles Parton, former UK diplomat to China and RUSI associate fellow.

And, the government has set out its plan for devolution. Joe Pike tells Adam about Angela Rayner’s plans for more mayors and abolishing district councils.

The Chinese "Spy" is Named

The French President Emmanuel Macron visits the UK today, to mark 80 years since Charles de Gaulle’s famous wartime broadcast. We get football legend David Ginola to read it to us. And, Andrew Neil moonlights as our French correspondent to tell us how Macron has handled the Coronavirus crisis. Also, Carol Vorderman tells us her concerns about the growing divide between children not attending school. And gives us an impromptu maths lesson.
