E216: Expanding Your Frame of Reference

You are not the limited thoughts, emotions, or sensory experiences you are aware of; you are the consciousness that is aware of them. Spiritual growth involves ceasing to focus that consciousness on the personal self, and welcoming life’s experiences as opportunities for growth. Through letting go at deeper and deeper levels, consciousness can turn away from distraction, become one-pointed, and ultimately follow awareness back to its source, where the limited sense of self gives way to the experience of divine oneness.

E215: The Source of Consciousness

Every moment of existence is an extraordinary miracle, but you filter that miracle through the likes, dislikes, fears, and expectations developed through your past experiences. By resisting what you don’t like and clinging to what you do, you build a personal self that judges the present and struggles to make the outside world conform to your preferences. The spiritual path is to stop resisting reality, release what you have stored inside, and allow every experience to pass through you until consciousness is free to experience life with peace, openness, and equanimity.

God is not to be seen as merely a personal wish-fulfilling entity but the universal consciousness and creative force that exists as everything in creation, including ourselves. True spirituality is about aligning with reality—what is actually happening—rather than resisting or clinging to what the mind likes or dislikes. The path to liberation lies in relaxing instead of resisting, allowing all of life to pass through without suppression, thereby purifying the inner being and becoming a force for peace in the world.
