HT-samtal

Approaching controversial or sensitive issues is a real challenge for many teachers. How do you encourage a lively discussion while making sure certain boundaries are not crossed? It can be a true balancing act. In this episode, a conversation between educators at Lund University about teaching sensitive and upsetting topics. Participants:

Den 28 november 2024 anordnade Humanistiska och teologiska fakulteternas samverkansråd det första seminariet i en tänkt serie som fått namnet "Fokus framtid". Seminariet hade titeln "Europa och framtiden – Ukraina, en ödesfråga".

Europa och framtiden: Ukraina, en ödesfråga

On the 21st of May, the 2025 honorary doctors at the Faculty of Humanities and the Faculty of Theology, respectively, presented their guest lectures in front of a rapt audience at LUX in Lund. In this recording, we will hear the Faculty of Humanities' honorary doctor, Professor Elmi Muller, give her talk, entitled "My Hand Was in Your Body: 5 Meditations on Touch, Knowledge, and the Ethics of Encounter".

Elmi Muller

HT-samtal #6 - Empati

In 2019, the Faculty of Humanities at Lund University decided to award Bruce Karstadt an honorary doctoral degree. Since 1990, Karstadt has been the president of the American Swedish Institute (ASI) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was given his honorary doctorate for his many years of contribution to Swedish culture and Swedish-American relations in the United States. Under Karstadt’s leadership, ASI has developed into one of the leading organisations working for the preservation and dissemination of Swedish culture in North America. 

The American Swedish Institute was also the topic of Bruce Karstadt's open lecture, which was held at LUX in Lund on May 22, 2019. The title of the lecture was, "Mattering More: One Museum's Story".
