In this first portion of our conversation with nurse, sufi and mother we talk to Nadia Barhoumeh about her background and specifically growing up in Palestine and moving to the US. What was life like living as a refugee... the language, culture and pressures from society and her family to conform. She gives her recollection of advice from her parents, living a secret life of spirituality against the will of her family and the adoption of her mantra, "When the going gets tough, the tough get going..." Nadia holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Rush University, College of Nursing Chicago, IL. Is a Certified Yoga Teacher and Therapy Since 2005 and a Licensed Registered Nurse in State of California, Since 1990.
