This week on ‘Face the Nation.’ America is back at war with Iran. Overnight, the U.S targeting Iranian drone and missile sites after Iran's revolutionary guard killed two American servicemembers and injured others, with one servicemember still missing. These are the first deaths of US troops since the fighting resumed two weeks ago. To date, sixteen American troops have died in the conflict. We have the latest with Senate Intelligence Committee Vice Chair Mark Warner.
The exchange of fire comes amid a turbulent week at home, with the president facing questions on everything from immigration enforcement to tariff threats against Canada.Yet in a FIERY primetime address last week, he chose to focus on election security—and his 2020 loss- a decision some members of his own party are now questioning.
We examine the president's claims with CBS News election law contributor David Becker and former cybersecurity chief Chris Krebs, who was fired by trump for asserting that the 2020 elections were secure.
Plus, New York Governor Kathy Hochul on her state's new data center moratorium and , and White House Border Czar Tom Homan on mounting scrutiny of ICE operations.

Today on Face the Nation, breaking overnight: Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has died from what his office calls a "brief and sudden illness" at the age of 71. We'll have the latest and we'll talk with fellow South Carolina Senator Tim Scott about his impact in Washington and beyond.

 

Plus, new developments overseas as U.S. Central Command has launched a new wave of strikes against Iran after its military force attacked a container ship in the Strait of Hormuz, in defiance of U.S. demands to keep the waterway open. What's next for the security of the region, after President Trump declared that fragile ceasefire deal to be "over"? We'll be joined by former CENTCOM commander Frank McKenzie, Republican Ohio Congressman Mike Turner, and Israel's Ambassador, Dr. Michael Leiter.

Despite record breaking temperatures sweeping across much of the nation, Americans came out over the weekend to honor the country's 250th year of independence. Fireworks, parades, flyovers, and red, white and blue were all on display. 

We take a look at one thing that is proving difficult to fix, America’s immigration system. And, we take look at the pastimes that have dominated American culture. This country is driven by competition, and winning, and few things unite us as much as love of the game.
