Irish woman Johanna Harwood is not widely-known, but she should be. She wrote the screenplays for the James Bond movies 'Dr. No' and 'From Russia With Love' including coming up with the "Goya Joke" - one of the most famous visual jokes in the whole series. Not long after, she gave it all up to go and live in Paris with a French film director, René Clémont. Not a straightforward relationship because he was already married and stayed married until his wife, Bella's death. Now in her 90s (refusing to reveal her exact age) and living in Monaco, Johanna looks back on a life almost as colourful and exciting as any Bond script! Bulldozer and Buckleppin

Peggy O'Connell's strange isolation was something resembling quarantine. Peggy, a elderly woman from Cavan, combines her half-century-old memories with extracts from her diary to tell a vivid, sometimes painful, more often amusing story of seven years with tuberculosis (TB).

The garden shed was only the culmination of a strange period of tough treatments and a form of social alienation that was sometimes as bad as being a patient in Sir Patrick Dunn's hospital. "All my teenager years I had to watch my sister going out." Even then, the name of her illness was rarely spoken, TB being firmly associated with dirt and poverty.

Eventually, "the doctor just wrote me off", and Peggy was sent home to die. This was 1949, and it was time for the bed in the garden shed. Then her boyfriend, Harry, saw an article in Reader's Digest about streptomycin. The wonder drug wasn't available in Ireland, but with the help of her father's friends in the post office, he managed to get Peggy a package of "perfume from America" - past the customs inspectors and into her bloodstream.

The drug, streptomycin, was to be administered by injection, and Peggy's diary reflects the stoic stiff-upper-lip with which she and the family faced the ordeal.

Peggy remembers this period in her life, in particular her time living in a garden shed, in vivid detail.

But within a day of landing in Ireland, Jón disappeared. With unique access into this story, we begin investigating Jón’s disappearance by examining the 48 hours before he was last seen alive. And by the morning after, she knew something had gone really wrong for Jón. The vast majority of missing persons are found within 72 hours of being last seen. But if someone is not found within that timeframe, the chances of discovering what happened to them become less and less as time slips by. When Jón’s family arrived to Ireland in the days after he disappeared, they all felt something had gone very wrong for Jón. They just needed everyone else to believe them…

As the first weeks turned into the first months since Jón’s disappearance, his family struggle to come to terms with what’s going on. As all the first firsts begin to pass by, Jón’s birthday, Christmas, family events - everyone in Jón’s circle struggles with his loss. With no concrete information emerging to explain his disappearance, some sinister rumours begin to emerge. And then, more than a year later, some of Jón’s family members are told he was killed in Dublin…

Where is Jón? - 05. Rumours and Secrets

During the first five years of Jón’s disappearance, through to February 2024, there was no indication of where Jón’s remains might lie. But behind the scenes, two anonymous notes had been handed into the authorities. The first was handed into a Garda station in 2022 - and the second to a priest's house in 2023. Both indicated Jón was buried in a specific location. Could this be the first real breakthrough in the search for Jón?
