'Do I Like It?' tries to flip the classical format of movie and music reviews with a passionate, 'fan-first' approach. We believe that in this age of the internet, no one is an authority on what is considered good art. We are just fans who are passionate about content. And 'Do I Like It?' is a fan telling another fan why they like or dislike a piece of content. No unnecessary high brow snobbery.

Prateek Lidhoo is a podcaster, rapper, music producer, screenwriter and an overall nerd about all audio visual content. His hobbies include analysing films frame-by-frame to extract the last ounce of subtext from them. With this podcast, he likes to maintain a fun, yet passionate lens with which he talks about movies and music.

Why do Modern Films Still Use Black and White?

In this episode, we review Thuramukham - a beautiful retelling of labor unions in the 1940’s in Cochin, India. The director does such an excellent job in portraying the daily struggles of labor workers that you feel as though you’re watching a documentary rather than a commercial mainstream movie.

But, as history lessons tend to, the movie seems to lag at certain points with repetitive action and dialogue sequences. Overall, the film is an excellent example of almost hitting the mark.
