Honoring Charlie Kirk: The 295th Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying

Today we discuss MAHA, vaccines, Covid, autism, and ostriches. Senator Ron Johnson held a hearing on the corruption of science, at which Jake Scott (MD), Toby Rogers (PhD), and lawyer Aaron Siri testified about vaccine safety testing and the relationship between vaccines and autism. The new MAHA Strategy report attributes poor diet, aggregation of environmental chemicals, lack of physical activity, chronic stress, and overmedicalization to the decline in children’s health. Meanwhile, people who have been fooled by the fear campaign celebrate getting their newest Covid boosters. And in Canada, ostriches are at risk of being killed because of a misunderstanding of immunity, but people are fighting back. The immune system that defends the body politic is discovering how to defeat the infection. The battle is over the public consciousness.

While we were livestreaming, news broke that Charlie Kirk was shot during an event in Utah and sadly passed away shortly after.

Kennedy revealed this week that in 2002, the CDC destroyed data that showed that children who got the MMR vaccine before 36 months of age had far higher rates of autism than did those who get the vaccine later in life. An HHS report will soon be released that ties Tylenol use during pregnancy to autism—what does this tell us about past public health advice, safety and risk? How can we all become better at pattern recognition? Florida Surgeon General Joe Ladapo is moving away from vaccine mandates for all citizens, while the governors of the three West coast states are conflating “science” with “ideology” while pining for a Covid-era-style CDC.
