Federal agents, including officers of the Border Patrol Tactical Unit, clashed with demonstrators who were protesting the killing of a U.S. citizen, 37-year-old Renee Good, by an ICE officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Wednesday. Iranian authorities appeared to be cutting off internet access Thursday in the capital and some other regions of the country as mass protests and chanting against the government continue. Vice President JD Vance said Thursday that the Trump administration is creating a new assistant attorney general position focused on investigating fraud following allegations that taxpayers were bilked out of billions of dollars in Minnesota.

An ICE officer fatally shot a woman Wednesday morning in south Minneapolis, according to the Department of Homeland Security. The U.S. carried out operations Wednesday to seize two oil tankers linked to Venezuela — one in the North Atlantic and one in the Caribbean Sea, officials said. Nick Reiner's arraignment was postponed again Wednesday in the murders of his parents, filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner, after his attorney, Alan Jackson, withdrew from the case. The arraignment hearing is now scheduled for Feb. 23.

Former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife pleaded not guilty Monday to federal drug trafficking and other charges. In court, Maduro was defiant, declaring through a translator that he is innocent, a “decent man” and is “still president of my country.” The CDC makes major changes to childhood vaccine recommendations, with guidelines suggesting fewer shots. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz announced that he won't seek reelection in a surprise exit from politics less than 18 months after the Democrat was chosen to be the party's nominee for vice president.

Nearly three feet of snow has blanketed parts of the Northeast as severe weather impacts people across the country, bringing frigid temperatures and snow to the East Coast and heavy rain and mudslide concerns to Southern California. President Trump warned Friday in a social media post that if Iran "violently kills peaceful protesters, which is their custom, the United States of America will come to their rescue." Investigators said Friday that the deadly fire that tore through a popular bar in the Swiss ski resort of Crans-Montana early on New Year's Day was caused by sparklers on Champagne bottles, which ignited the bar's ceiling.

A fire at a crowded bar in the Swiss Alps during New Year's Eve celebrations killed about 40 people and left 115 injured, many of them seriously, police said Thursday. Zohran Mamdani was publicly sworn in today as the 112th mayor of New York City. President Trump says he underwent a CT scan, rather than an MRI, during his October examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. In a new interview, he also says it would have been better if he hadn't undergone the scan at all.

Tonight, we are 1200 feet above the wreckage of the Baltimore bridge collapse. The Biden administration approved $60 billion in emergency funding to help cover the initial cost of debris removal. Governor Wes Moore warned residents of the long road ahead when it comes to rebuilding the bridge and returning the port to what it was.
