Vice President JD Vance said Thursday that the Trump administration is creating a new assistant attorney general position focused on investigating fraud following allegations that taxpayers were bilked out of billions of dollars in Minnesota.

An ICE officer fatally shot a woman Wednesday morning in south Minneapolis, according to the Department of Homeland Security. The U.S. carried out operations Wednesday to seize two oil tankers linked to Venezuela — one in the North Atlantic and one in the Caribbean Sea, officials said. Nick Reiner's arraignment was postponed again Wednesday in the murders of his parents, filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner, after his attorney, Alan Jackson, withdrew from the case. The arraignment hearing is now scheduled for Feb. 23.

The FAA’s plan to slash airline capacity due to the ongoing government shutdown, with Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announcing 40 "high-volume" areas will have their air traffic cut by 10% in the coming days to cope with shortages of air traffic controllers who are working without pay. Marshawn Kneeland, a defensive end for the Dallas Cowboys, has died at age 24, the team and local authorities confirmed Thursday morning.
