Half Century Since Tragedy: The Edmund FitzgeraldOn Nov. 10, 1975, the Edmund Fitzgerald disappeared beneath the waves of Lake Superior in a terrible storm. The sinking took the lives of 29 men and was immortalized in song by Gordon Lightfoot.
