This episode is dominated by the biggest story in football right now, Man City being found guilty on 114 of the 115 charges that have been leveled at them by the Premier League. We discuss that verdict, the length of time the case has been ongoing, before exploring the impact their financial doping has had on the game. It doesn't just impact other clubs, but fans too pay the price for the inflationary landscape. We also discuss the possible outcome and what we think would be suitable punishment for what they have done, and the way they have damaged the Premier League and football more broadly. Arsenal Women Arsecast Episode 175: Points Divided against United

In this episode we look back at the 3-0 defeat away to Brighton on Saturday. Arsenal struggled from the off, and we try and understand why we couldn't cope with the way the opposition pressed us, and ask whether we could have dealt with things differently in terms of how we tried to play. There's analysis of the goals we conceded, where we weren't switched on enough defensively, and on more than one occasion we allowed Brighton too much time and space outside our box. We also chat about Mikel Arteta not changing anything at half-time, the substitutions he did make but at which point we were down by three goals, some chances we didn't make the most of, and how concerned we should be after our first loss of the season. There are also listener questions in part 2 about not scoring from set-pieces, David Raya conceding goals from distance, whether a fourth away game was a factor in the performance, stylistic differences between Jurrien Timber and Ben White, and lots more.

Arsecast Extra Episode 713 - 20.09.2026

In this episode I'm joined by Ryan Hunn from Stadio to chat about Arsenal's 4-2 win over Ipswich in the Carabao Cup. We start with Max Dowman's two goal contribution, but before we get into the nuts and bolts of his performance, there's discussion of how Arsenal have to manage a 16 year old such talent and potential, then there's the good stuff, in particular his first goal. There was also another very impressive teenage performance in the shape of Marli Salmon, and we talk about the context of that display at the heart of the defence with lots of moving pieces around him. After that, we focus on some of the senior players which is a bit more of a mixed bag, with focus on Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres, and more besides.

Arsenal Women Arsecast Episode 174: Gunners get their wings clipped by the Eagles

In this episode we chat about the 2-0 win over Sunderland on Saturday evening. Arsenal made first half chances for Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz which could have resulted in goals, but against a hard-working home side we struggled to find the breakthrough. We then chat about the award of their penalty, and the referee/VAR decision that was hard to accept. However, David Raya was the hero, saving Enzo Le Fee's spot-kick, before Bruno Guimaraes scored a beautiful goal at the Stadium of Light to make it 1-0. The Gunners finishing was off again, there were more chances to score which we didn't take, Sunderland had threatening moments, but in the end Bukayo Saka's penalty made it safe. We look at how well Arsenal acquitted themselves away from home (again), before taking listener questions about Mikel Arteta's comments about the penalty, where David Raya ranks in the pantheon of Arsenal goalkeepers, the managers use of subs and his technical area antics, possible changes for the Carabao Cup game on Tuesday, and lots more.

We chat about Mikel Arteta's rotations with four changes from the side that beat Chelsea, and how encouraging it was to see the team create so many chances against an opposition low block, something we've often struggled with in the past. We chat about the opportunities missed by the likes of Bukayo Saka, Mikel Merino and Piero Hincapie, before we turn our attention to Martin Odegaard whose overall performance was so impressive, and whose brilliant goal was decisive. Arsenal Women Arsecast Episode 173: Baum Brightens Arsenal’s Day in Crawley

In this episode we chat about the 2-1 win over Chelsea on Sunday, starting with Arsenal falling behind early on, but reacting really well and playing the kind of football that really connects with fans.
