Arsenal Women Arsecast Episode 153: We are the champions...of the world

In this episode we look back at the 4-0 win over Leeds at Elland Road on Saturday. We chat about the team selection which saw Kai Havertz start, and help bring a different kind of dynamic to the team's midfield set-up, with Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi playing distinct roles too. We also discuss Noni Madueke, a late call-up after Bukayo Saka's warm-up injury, and his contribution with an assist and a belatedly awarded goal. In the second half Viktor Gyokeres missed a chance but also tucked one away well, there were important cameos off the bench from Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus, and a resounding win was made more impactful by the points Man City dropped yesterday. In this episode I'm joined by Charles Watts to look back at Arsenal's 3-2 win over Kairat Almaty in the Champions League on Wednesday evening. Arsenal Women Arsecast Episode 152: FIFA Champions Cup Preview Special

In this episode we look back at the 3-2 defeat to Man Utd on Sunday, Arsenal's first home loss of the season. Episode 861 - Get it Inter ya ...

In this episode we look back at the 0-0 draw with Nottingham Forest on Saturday. We start by reckoning with the fact we've extended our lead at the top, despite a sense of frustration that permeated after a goalless draw. Then we move onto the match itself, and the key incidents including big chances missed by Gabriel Martinelli and Viktor Gyokeres, with some focus on the striker, what he's not bringing to the team right now, and what that requires of Mikel Arteta. There were second half changes, a slightly contentious penalty incident, but the game played out in disappointing fashion as we struggled to create. In part 2 there are questions about our attacking potency based on some stats, Declan Rice's 'outburst' at the end, how we view draws, Martin Odegaard, reconfiguring midfield from time to time, and loads more.

In this episode I'm joined by Phil Costa to look back on Wednesday's 3-2 win over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg at Stamford Bridge. We chat about the early goal which silenced some noisy home fans, and a relatively even first half, before Viktor Gyokeres got a much needed goal to make it 2-0. We discuss the goal we conceded before making it 3-1, and the chances we missed to go further ahead before they got another goal back. We analyse some individual performances, like Martin Zubimendi and William Saliba, and look at this is as a positive result which could have been even better, but which leaves us with some work to do in the second leg.
