That was the question raised last week by former Anthropic employee Jacob Coxon, who said many at the company believe that it's possible. Then this weekend, the company's CEO Dario Amodei posted an essay in which he acknowledged that people may lose control of AI and called on industry leaders to “slow the pace” at improving the technology to avoid the wrong paths and the possibility of AI harming humanity. A deadlocked jury has been sent home after a sixth day of deliberations in the Lindsay Clancy trial, the Massachusetts mother accused of murder after strangling her three young children in 2023. Trump Vows to Hit Iran "Much Harder" if it Retaliates

At least 1,050 people are dead and nearly 4,000 remain missing after Nepal's floods. A good deal of the search effort is focused on hydropower projects along the river, where authorities believe at least 900 workers are unaccounted for in tunnels in the mountainsides. Anderson speaks to a school bus driver who managed to save dozens of children, by speeding to higher ground as the flood was bearing down.

Nepal Death Toll Reaches Over 1,000; Nearly 4,00 Still Missing

The deadliest airplane crash in the United States in nearly quarter century occurred in Washington D.C., after a collision between an American Airlines jet and a United States Army Blackhawk helicopter. We learned that one of the flight recorders aboard the airplane has been recovered. However, 67 men, women, children are dead. Donald Trump offered words of condolences which was then followed a press conference where he blamed the crash on efforts to improve diversity in the workforce and past presidents Obama and Biden.
