That was the question raised last week by former Anthropic employee Jacob Coxon, who said many at the company believe that it's possible. Then this weekend, the company's CEO Dario Amodei posted an essay in which he acknowledged that people may lose control of AI and called on industry leaders to “slow the pace” at improving the technology to avoid the wrong paths and the possibility of AI harming humanity. Judge Declares Mistrial in Clancy Case After Jury Deadlocks

Stunning new developments in what began as a profound human tragedy, and has become a riveting courtroom drama that could come down to one single juror. A deadlocked jury has been sent home after a sixth day of deliberations in the Lindsay Clancy trial, the Massachusetts mother accused of murder after strangling her three young children in 2023. Trump Vows to Hit Iran "Much Harder" if it Retaliates

At least 1,050 people are dead and nearly 4,000 remain missing after Nepal's floods. A good deal of the search effort is focused on hydropower projects along the river, where authorities believe at least 900 workers are unaccounted for in tunnels in the mountainsides. Anderson speaks to a school bus driver who managed to save dozens of children, by speeding to higher ground as the flood was bearing down.

Nepal Death Toll Reaches Over 1,000; Nearly 4,00 Still Missing

A federal judge late today temporarily blocked the Trump administration from putting at least 2, 200 employees at the U.S. Agency for International Development on leave starting at midnight. Also, Elon Musk sent the Justice Department a list of people to investigate, and the acting US Attorney for Washington, DC promised to quote, "chase them to the end of the earth." Plus, one of the staff members of Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency, who resigned after the Wall Street Journal uncovered racist posts of his, is apparently getting his job back with the blessing of the Vice President.
