HYROX world champion, a 22-year-old from Australia, Joanna Wietrzyk has forfeited her first place finish at a race in Beijing and apologized to China as well as her fellow competitors. Wietrzyk has been facing significant backlash, even death threats, because she chose to continue competing after defecating on herself in the middle of the race. Race organizers have changed the rules because of the incident, admitting they made a mistake by letting her compete for another 30 minutes while putting other athletes at risk.

The lone holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy triple murder trial has identified himself and is defending his decision. 48-year-old Michael P. Desronvil spoke through his attorney, saying he never had any doubts. Desronvil says he is a devout Catholic and President Trump supporter who understood the law, and believed the evidence and witness testimony pointed to Clancy’s guilt.

Among the mountain of evidence removed from the house, 5 urns with remains inside and dozens of barrels in the basement containing an unknown liquid.

49-year-old Jeffery Lee is set to become Alabama’s second execution of the year at 6 pm ET. Lee was scheduled to die back in June via nitrogen gas for the double murder of a pawn shop owner and his employee. Lee also shot and thought he killed a second employee who played dead, but was able to call 9-1-1 and identify Lee. Lee was only sentenced to death after a judge overruled a jury of his peers who voted 7 to 5 for life in prison. A 2017 law in Alabama no longer allows judges to overrule a jury’s ruling, but it’s not retroactive, and does nothing to spare Lee from dying by lethal injection this evening.

The brother of Princess Dianna, Charles Spencer, has authored a new book leading up to the 30th anniversary of her death. In the book, “Swan Song: Diana, My Sister” Spencer writes about a phone call he had with then Prince Charles after the death of Diana, where he claims Charles said “Rest assured. We’ll forget her soon enough.” In a rare move, Buckingham Palace chose to respond to the released passage by saying “His Majesty is mindful that the pain of fraternal grief can cloud reason, affect judgment and color memory.” Damn!
