Again With This: Dawson's, Melrose, 90210

The writers’ ambivalent (if not outright confused) views about excessive drinking are inflicted on us once again as Pacey throws himself a belated housewarming party to celebrate a Best Buy shopping spree. At least one of your co-hosts is disgusted by the portrayal of female characters uniformly disdaining the new giant TV; all the dudes are firmly in favor, including Gus, Emma’s fiancé? Yep, turns out she needs an American husband, and fast, because her visa is no longer valid for reasons we should have figured out back when she was hanging around the aquarium every day. Joey is determined to drink away her heartache over Eddie’s departure; Jen is ready to be sober out of respect for CJ, so she’s horrified when she hears that Pacey offered him a drink and he took it. At the other end of the sobriety spectrum, Audrey’s still in rehab in L.A. Dawson comes to visit, not only cloddishly arriving without so much as an Us Weekly but then forgetting whom he’s there for as soon as she spots one of her fellow patients: a producer named Toni Stark. Dawson would have to be made of iron (man) not to parlay this chance sighting into a networking opportunity, right??? Join us as we get down and dirty about “Clean And Sober”!

Felicity Porter (Keri Russell) is at her commencement, realizing she’s not as happy about the life her parents have mapped out for her: doing all her schooling at Stanford to become a doctor, exactly like her dad. So when she bravely asks her crush, Ben (Scott Speedman) to become the second person to sign her senior yearbook and finds out he’s going to “New York” for college, she finds her acceptance letter to the same school and decides to enroll there too. When she runs into him again on campus in the fall, his reaction is her first sign that her impulsive decision isn’t going to pan out exactly the way she might have hoped when she made it. 14: Special: Let's Watch The Cruel Intentions Trilogy!

After Joey found Audrey unconscious at the end of the previous episode, she got in touch with the Liddells offscreen, and arrangements have been made for Audrey to enter a rehab program in the Los Angeles area. Except, whoops, no one thought this person deep in substance misuse disorder might pretend to head for the airport, then actually find a karaoke bar, bring a guy named Bob (Seth Rogen!) back to a local hotel room, and hide out. Since Eddie has decided to try to enroll in that writers’ workshop and, conveniently, drive himself across the country that very night, Joey volunteers him to drive Audrey too — something Audrey only agrees to if they also bring Bob. Since Joey learned nothing from this flight risk the first time, predictable mayhem ensues. Dawson is way out over his skis on reshoots, enduring open disrespect from his DP and Natasha and threats from Heather (whose fault this is, honestly). And when Grams clashes with an entirely offscreen Mr. Smalls, Jen decides the answer is to set her up with CJ’s widowed Uncle Bill (Geoffrey Lewis! …You’ll know him when you see him). Look waaaaaay down for our latest episode: we’ve struck Rock! Bottom!!!

13: DC S06.E13: Rock Bottom

Following her sheepish west coast reunion with Dawson, Audrey returns to Boston. Smoothing things over is pretty easy with MOST of her friends, but Emma and the other Hell’s Belles need more convincing, especially with a gig opening for Loudermilk just hours away. Audrey convinces Emma to give her another chance, and probably really believes all her promises about turning over a new leaf when she makes them! Spending more time with Joey convinces Harley that she has to intervene between her and Eddie, but credit to her: the crazy caper she comes up with to get him back to Hell’s Kitchen actually does work…briefly. And Pacey dares to attend another party with Rinaldi: it seems like Pacey’s frictionless rise through the ranks at the brokerage is continuing, though a Mystery Girl (Sarah Shahi!) observing him warns him to be on his guard. There’s no wrong way to enjoy our episode on “All The Right Moves”!

12: DC S06.E12: All The Right Moves

We’re following the teens of Dawson’s Creek through each day of a particularly eventful week. Joey, back at school after the holidays, is leaving dozens of messages for Eddie that are going unreturned, and she’s not the only one looking for him: Harley’s back, too. Jen has finally been worn down on volunteering at The Stand, and she must really be committed if she’s letting CJ train her at this stage in their relationship; meanwhile, David and Jack are taking the Big Step of getting tested for STIs together. Dawson and Todd return to L.A., where the latter is not quite ready to receive fearless feedback from studio executive Larry Newman (Paul Gleason!). And when Pacey runs into Emma there, the aquarium becomes the site for the two to get to know each other much better than ever before. Today is the day for our episode on “Day Out Of Days”!

11: DC S06.E11: Day Out Of Days

It’s the holidays, but not the peace on earth/goodwill to men kind. Joey weirds Eddie out by inviting him back to Capeside, which he declines, opening the door for Joey to make the same invitation to Audrey after Audrey drunkenly misses her flight back to Los Angeles. Pacey can’t wait to drive his new Beemer up to the Witter house and rub his family’s collective nose in all his financial success. Dawson decides to continue ignoring his hurt over Natasha’s possible infidelity by inviting her to Capeside…and Todd also comes, possibly just so there’s someone to hit on Gale? 10: DC S06.E10: Merry Mayhem

Finals are almost over, but the universe is punishing Joey by scheduling Hetson’s after nearly everyone else is done, and she can’t find a quiet place to study. Eddie’s offer to borrow his apartment while he’s at work is both generous and maybe a little strategic, since they do end up fooling around in a naked way that’s so tiring Joey falls back to sleep and misses most of the exam. As we all know, academic desperation typically doesn’t bring out her best, but…just kidding, she’s terrible this time too. Todd’s movie has its own “Drew Barrymore in Scream“-type cameo artist: a movie star named Max Winter who is working with Spielberg next. Dawson gets way too jealous about it, possibly with just cause. Pacey’s boiler room is having a holiday party, so he invites Emma to come and even insists on buying her a new dress to wear for the occasion! There’s just one little thing about this particular party that he probably should have made sure to tell her before she showed up for it. 9: DC S06.E09: Everything Put Together Falls Apart

Before Todd got into the flop movie business, he was a very well regarded music video director, which is how he knows No Doubt; that they are keeping tabs on him enough to give him like a dozen comps is kind of a surprise, but sure, why the hell not. Dawson gives them to Jen to distribute. Joey and Eddie get a pair, Eddie discovering while Joey hard-sells him that she expects their first date to be a hang with all her friends, one of whom was kicking glass at him not very long ago. Jack and David get a pair, and David’s good old friend CJ also gets one after Jen literally runs into him in the record store and can’t sense the palpable tension between him and Audrey. And Pacey gets one because Jen thinks if he and Audrey just got back into proximity with each other, they’d work out all their issues. Some people forget their tickets; others misread them; shocking secrets are revealed…and we’re telling you all about it in our Hella Good new episode!

8: DC S06.E08: Spiderwebs

As we know, Audrey is not doing so great. But since she’s being louder and crazier than ever before instead of talking to anyone about it, no one can quite tell exactly what’s going on until she starts pounding shots ahead of her latest Hell’s Belles gig and getting nasty to Eddie while Joey stands by uselessly. Actually, one person can tell what’s going on: CJ, and this is the episode where we find out why. Freeman announces to the class that his new book has earned him a guest lecturer gig in Chicago, but before he goes, he has a bunch of things he’d like to not quite say to Jack. When Pacey and the rest of the aspiring stockbrokers pass their Series 7 exams, Rinaldi takes them all on a whirlwind trip to New Orleans to be disgusting in a whole other time zone. 7: DC S06.E07: Ego Tripping At The Gates Of Hell

Remember that super-hot chili dog seduction (https://www.againwiththis90210.com/mp103) Michael pulled off a couple of episodes ago? Well, it turns out that hot dog really made Jane lose control, because now she's accidentally pregnant. Attempts to warm Michael up on the idea of parenthood this early in his hospital internship fail, as he convinces her that they owe it to themselves to spend a few years fulfilling their own professional aspirations before adding a child to the mix, and she decides to find out what's involved in getting an abortion without ever telling him she was pregnant at all. In the process, she makes the mistake of telling Rhonda, who can't help opening her big mouth to Michael. Billy has, improbably, landed a column at a free weekly magazine (at $25 a pop: still seems high). Realizing he doesn't actually have any interesting life experiences to fill inches with, he decides to try bungee-jumping, forcing his subconscious to remind him, in a dream, that he's desperately afraid of heights.
