13: DC S06.E13: Rock Bottom

After Joey found Audrey unconscious at the end of the previous episode, she got in touch with the Liddells offscreen, and arrangements have been made for Audrey to enter a rehab program in the Los Angeles area. Except, whoops, no one thought this person deep in substance misuse disorder might pretend to head for the airport, then actually find a karaoke bar, bring a guy named Bob (Seth Rogen!) back to a local hotel room, and hide out. Since Eddie has decided to try to enroll in that writers’ workshop and, conveniently, drive himself across the country that very night, Joey volunteers him to drive Audrey too — something Audrey only agrees to if they also bring Bob. Since Joey learned nothing from this flight risk the first time, predictable mayhem ensues. Dawson is way out over his skis on reshoots, enduring open disrespect from his DP and Natasha and threats from Heather (whose fault this is, honestly). And when Grams clashes with an entirely offscreen Mr. Smalls, Jen decides the answer is to set her up with CJ’s widowed Uncle Bill (Geoffrey Lewis! …You’ll know him when you see him).
