With a main event of Hollywood Hogan vs. Roddy Piper in a cage, and in the midst of the Sting vs. NWO angle, there was sure to be a ton of eyeballs on this show! Also taking place that night, Randy Savage and DDP continued their feud of the year in a "Death Match," Lex Luger wrestled Scott Hall with Larry Zbyszko as special guest referee, and Curt Hennig defended the US title against the man he betrayed at Fall Brawl, Ric Flair! PLUS, hear all about Disco Inferno vs. Jacqueline and how WCW got there, Alex Wright vs. Mongo McMichael, Chris Jericho vs. Gedo, AND one of the greatest matches of all time, Eddy Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio Jr., Cruiserweight title vs. Rey's mask! All this, along with all the news and notes from the time period, including Jeff Jarrett leaving WCW, was Todd Pettengill ever considered as an on air talent by Eric, and so much more!

Episode 86: Ask Eric Anything 2!

After a few false starts throughout the years, and red hot off the Montreal Screwjob, Bret arrives on Nitro amidst a long time run of Nitro ratings victories over RAW, and just ahead of the biggest event in their history, Starrcade '97! Bret comes out as a surprise appearance in the middle of a segment between Eric and JJ Dillon, to decide the special guest referee in the match between Eric and Larry Zbyszko for control of Nitro. Why was it done this way, were there any other options, and how did Eric feel the debut went? Also, on the card that night, a Ric Flair-Curt Hennig main event, Buff Bagwell-Lex Luger, Randy Savage-Booker T, Chris Benoit feuds with Raven and The Flock, The Steiner Bros., Scott Hall vs. Chris Jericho, Dean Malenko, Disco Inferno, and so much more!\
