George Kittle, Christian McCaffrey energize 49ers in return to practice

Despite an uneven week of practice leading up to Thursday's game in Los Angeles, the 49ers responded with an emphatic 41-17 thumping of the Chargers at "Levi's South" in their second preseason game. Rookies De'Zhaun Stribling, Kaelon Black and Romello Height made impressive early plays that set the tone for the rest of the matchup. Players on the bubble to make the 53-man roster -- notably Jacob Cowing -- also stepped up with some highlights later on, particularly on special teams.
