"Wool Baroness" is a tale of love, adventure, and cunning in medieval Scotland, with a touch of faerie magic that will transport readers to a world of enchantment and intrigue. Follow Runa's journey through life as she defies the odds to build a wool empire and find true love, all while navigating the dangers of the faerealm and her own fae heritage.
Runa Woolsey was born in the small village of Everwood, Scotland, in the year 1270. She was a clever young girl, running half wild in the faewood. When Runa was still a child, her mother died, and she was sent to St. Abbie's Abbey to be raised by the nuns. But a restrictive life with the church was not for her. Runa ran away, back to Everwood and found solace and friendship with the fae in the faewood near the village.
As Runa grew up, she developed her skills as a wool spinner and became increasingly prosperous, running a secret wool trade to smuggle wool out of Scotland, past the English, and on to the cities of Europe. But her life changed forever when she met Lord Keirnan Hannay at the midsummer festival. They fell deeply in love, but as a commoner, Runa couldn't marry him. Because of her donations to the Scottish army's war against the English, the king makes Runa a Baroness. She is now free to marry her true love Keirnan. But their happiness was short-lived when the Leanan Sidhe revealed to Runa that her father was a selkie, making her part fae. To prove his worthiness and his love, Keirnan was made to complete a quest set by the Leanan Sidhe - he must find Runa's selkie sealskin coat hidden in the faerealm.
