White Nights

'Why, one thanks some people for being alive at the same time with one; I thank you for having met me, for my being able to remember you all my life!'

Over the span of four soft, blissful nights, a lonely and nameless narrator takes the reader on a journey spent getting to know a young woman, Nastenka, found crying under a bridge in St Petersburg. Promising not to develop a romantic affection towards one another, the pair develop a relationship that will have a deep impact on one another.

Published early on in Dostoyevsky's career, White Nights is a short novella that delves into the labyrinth of human emotion, leaving the reader grappling with the profound and our connection with one another.
