Two Wings Poetry: Wings of Angels

As a child starting in the third grade

I always loved creative writing.

This was the subject I liked best.

All of my writing seem to be poetic in form

And with an imaginative power of rhyming

It seemed that everything I wrote,

The first word would sound like the last,

For example, “love from above.”

I never knew why this was.

As I grew older, my writing did not

Change very much.

Rhyming of words always made me smile.

I did not realize that this became my style of writing.

As I got older, on into my adulthood,

As I would read the Bible,

Certain scriptures would peak my interest.

I would write off to the side what it meant to me,

Always in poetic style,

Such as, “Luke 8:15 those with a noble and good heart”

In the form of a poem.

I would scribble these poems on whatever

Piece of paper that was

Available and date it.

In 2009 I had a brain aneurysm.

During that time, God was healing me.

I began putting these scribblings in dated order.

As I shared these poems and thoughts

With my daughter and grandsons,

They were so inspired by them.

They encouraged me to write a book

Of poems, thoughts, and quotes.

I started sharing with others.

As I was called on to recite my poems,

I was encouraged

To publish them and share with others.

I amazed myself by what I had written.

I realized that it wasn’t about me.

This was meant for others to read and see,

See with the spiritual eyes
