Two Treatises of Government

This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice. What if political power were not born from blood, conquest, or divine command—but from the consent of free people?

In *Two Treatises of Government*, John Locke gives one of the defining arguments of modern political philosophy. Written in the atmosphere of seventeenth-century conflict over monarchy, authority, property, liberty, and resistance, this landmark work challenges absolute power and asks what makes government legitimate.

The first treatise attacks the theory that kings possess natural or divinely inherited authority over mankind. The second treatise develops Locke’s enduring vision of civil society: human beings possess natural rights, political authority exists by consent, property arises through labor, and government becomes a trust that may be resisted when it betrays its purpose.

Locke’s ideas helped shape later debates about constitutional government, liberalism, revolution, individual liberty, and the limits of state power. For listeners interested in political theory, philosophy, law, history, democracy, and the roots of modern rights language, this work remains essential.

This AI-narrated audiobook offers a clear, polished, and accessible listening experience, helping modern audiences follow Locke’s dense reasoning, historical argument, and philosophical structure with steadiness and precision.

Enter one of the great arguments against absolute rule, and hear the work that continues to echo wherever liberty, property, government, and consent are debated.
