TVR Chimaera: The Complete Story

The TVR Chimaera was more than just a sports car; it was the model that defined TVR's most successful era. Combining dramatic design, thunderous V8 performance and a level of practicality previously unseen in a TVR, it is widely regarded as the foundation of the company's prosperity throughout the 1990s. Written by a long-time TVR Car Club member and former Chimaera owner, this book provides the definitive history of TVR's best-selling model. Drawing on extensive interviews with former TVR designers, engineers, dealers and specialists, it traces the Chimaera's story from the marque's post-war origins through its design and development in Blackpool, its evolution from 4-litre to 5-litre power, and its export success, including the establishment of a dedicated production facility in Malaysia. TVR Chimaera – The Complete Story goes beyond the factory story to examine ownership, motorsport and the enthusiast culture that surrounds the Chimaera, including highly modified and competition cars. Richly illustrated with previously unpublished photographs and owner stories, this book is an authoritative and engaging celebration of one of the most loved and enduring British sports cars ever built, and is an essential addition to any TVR library.
