Published in 1894, Tom Sawyer Abroad finds Tom and Huck somewhat restless and bored with small-town mischief after their escapades in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. So the boys, accompanied by Jim, head off to see the unveiling of a futuristic airship – only to be kidnapped by its mad inventor and whisked across the ocean and into the heart of Africa, where they encounter some of the world's greatest wonders and face challenges that test their wits and resourcefulness.
