The Unifying Principle for Religion and Science

Since the dawn of recorded history, religion has been a consistent feature of virtually every human society. This is true even now where, despite the discoveries of modern science, the major faiths of mankind each number their adherents in the hundreds of millions. But unfortunately, during this entire time, strife between the various religions and their sects, and between religion and science, has been a persistent occurrence. And in recent times, where there exist tens of thousands of nuclear weapons ready to be launched on a moment’s notice, and fanatical terrorists trying their best to obtain them, we are threatened with catastrophic destruction on a scale never seen before.

Is there any way to end this conflict? The answer, according to Gopi Krishna, is an investigation into spiritual experience that will reveal it as an evolutionary development of the human species. He believed that human evolution is proceeding towards a predetermined goal–cosmic consciousness or enlightenment, and that the current conflicts were a result of ignorance of the laws that govern this process. It would only be when these laws were verified by science, and followed by humanity, that the species will evolve in a safe and healthy way.
